The second of the summer 2019 The Lexicon Proms series will be held on Saturday, June 1 2019. The free event will run from 4.00 pm to about 7.30 pm, where visitors will be able to sit on the giant grass covered steps overlooking Bond Square to enjoy a fabulous celebration of musical entertainment, featuring two local choirs.
First on stage is the fabulous Bracknell and Ascot Rock Choir who will be performing a rousing selection of your favourite rock songs, guaranteed to get everyone singing along in no time.
Next up is The Reading Community Gospel Choir, with members ranging from 14 to 70 years old, the choir will be performing a blend of classical gospel and contemporary songs creating a musical fusion of funky, soulful, groovy and up-lifting music to brighten the soul and make people smile.
Last but not least, These City Lights, a three piece group will be performing a set of party pop classics for all ages to put everyone in a party mood.
In addition to the music, internationally acclaimed street magician Andrew Kelly, will be wandering around Bond Square, engaging with the audience, with his special blend of magical mystery and illusions.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says: “Despite the weather, hundreds of people came along last Saturday to join in the fun of the first of this summer’s The Lexicon Proms. We hope to see even more people on June 1 2019, at this fabulous free musical event.”
Nando’s will be sampling some of its famous chicken at the June event.
Future The Lexicon Proms will take place on July 6, August 3 and September 7 2019.
