A CELEBRATION FIT FOR A KING

The Lexicon and Bracknell Forest Council have teamed up to host a number of activities in the town centre to mark the historic occasion of The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

The Coronation Celebrations, taking place on Saturday May 6 and Sunday May 7 2023, aim to bring the community together for a weekend of fun, entertainment and community spirit.

To start the celebratory weekend, on Saturday, visitors are invited to Bond Square to watch the Coronation ceremony on a live screen*, followed by an afternoon of live music and dance until 7.00 pm.

Throughout the day, visitors will be entertained by a fabulous line-up of performers including The Rock Choir, BWCB Liquorice Allsorts, Saxcelerate band, BARTA, Reading Gospel Community Choir, Vocalese and The Candy Girls.

The celebrations continue with a Tea Dance being held in Princess Square on Sunday between 11.00 and 12.00 noon and again from 2.00 pm until 3.00 pm.

Shoppers can pause for a while and join in the dancing led by KL Dance Steps and enjoy a delicious Coronation Crown biscuit and a refreshing cup of tea or coffee provided by Starbucks.

The activity is free but donations to The Lexicon Charity Fund will be welcome.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says: “We are thrilled to be able to bring the community together with a weekend of fun to make memories of this momentous occasion.”

Bracknell Forest Council will also be unveiling a commemorative bench later this year in Bond Square as a permanent reminder of the Coronation under which will be placed a time-capsule to mark the historic moment in time.
