Bracknell Armed Forces Day

Community invited to celebrate Bracknell Forest Armed Forces at The Lexicon

Residents across Bracknell Forest are invited to celebrate our Armed Forces on Saturday, 20 June, from 12 noon to 5pm in Bond Square, The Lexicon. This free-to-attend community event offers an afternoon of entertainment, activities, and the opportunity to recognise the contribution of the UK’s Armed Forces community.

Cllr Georgia Pickering, cabinet member for housing, community safety and communication, and armed forces Community Champion, said:

“I welcome the £4,000 Government grant that Bracknell Forest has received to support our event for the armed forces community.  As a nation we ask a lot from our military personnel and their families, this is a chance to raise public understanding and awareness of the vital role they play in protecting our way of life. It is also a fantastic opportunity to bring Bracknell Forest together for a community celebration to show our gratitude.”

Cllr Simon Carter, armed forces champion, Bracknell Town Council, said:

“Bracknell Town Council is proud to sponsor Bracknell Forest Armed Forces Day 2026. Our Armed Forces community, service personnel, veterans, and their families play a vital role in protecting our freedoms and supporting our nation in times of need.  By backing this event, we’re honouring their commitment, celebrating their sacrifices, and bringing our community together to show our gratitude. Armed Forces Day is an important reminder of the strength, resilience, and service that underpin our country, and we are delighted to stand alongside our partners in supporting it.”

Tom Henderson, centre director at The Lexicon, said:

“We are delighted to sponsor and host Armed Forces Day at The Lexicon in support of Bracknell Forest Council. The free event will give people of all ages a chance to honour those who serve or have served within the armed forces in a fun and inclusive environment.  We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the entertainment, and take part in showing support for the Armed Forces community across Bracknell Forest.”

The Bracknell Forest event provides a welcoming and inclusive space for residents to show their appreciation and learn more about the individuals and organisations who support and serve the country. Visitors will be able to enjoy a full programme of live performances, family-friendly activities, and informative stalls from a wide range of organisations linked to the Armed Forces community.

Additional support to bring this event has been provided by Abri Community Investment Fund, Winkfield Parish Council and The Bracknell Forest Cambium Partnership. The event has also been made possible thanks to the Armed Forces Day Grant Fund.

Bracknell Forest Council currently holds a Silver Award to reflect its active support of the Armed Forces Covenant.
