In collaboration with four local schools, The Remake Project aims to raise awareness of recycling and sustainability, in a fun and creative way.
The four schools, Winkfield St Mary’s, Holly Spring, New Scotland Hill and The Pines, will be using materials otherwise destined for landfill to transform four old sculpture bases into vibrant new artworks. The four sculpture bases were first used by The Lexicon in 2018 and, instead of being sent to landfill, were kept and stored so they could be reused for future projects such as this.
We are looking for a variety of items which can be re-cycled in order to re-dress the sculptures. Customers have been asked to drop these items off at Shopmobility in Princess Square which is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am to 4pm.

We give our children regular opportunities to learn outside through experiences such as working on our school allotment, taking part in bushcraft sessions, and contributing to the Harmony Project research study. To re-dress the squirrel we are looking for the following items:- |

It was a whole school artwork and the children loved going to see it at The Lexicon. We were so encouraged by it that for our school art week this year all classes made wildlife large scale sculptures to go in our grounds. To re-dress the wolf we are looking for the following items: |

Taking part in The Lexicon Remake Project aligns closely with our values and provides a powerful opportunity for our children to see the impact they can have beyond the school environment. We believe it is essential for our pupils to be represented in the wider community and to have their creativity, talents, and passion for caring for the environment celebrated. To re-dress the princess we are looking for: |

As part of this project, we will be encouraging the children to think creatively about waste, reuse, and responsible consumption and consider how everyday materials can be reused, rather than discarded - helping to reduce landfill waste.
