Businesses seeking top local talent at Bracknell Jobs Fair

A jobs fair is set to showcase hundreds of vacancies, apprenticeships and training opportunities from Bracknell businesses seeking local talent.

Bracknell Business Improvement District (BID) has teamed up with The Lexicon to run the large-scale event to get people into work and support businesses who need staff.

The jobs fair will be held on Thursday 30 June in Princess Square, and attendees will be able to drop in anytime between 10.30am - 4pm to find out about a host of roles on the Bracknell Southern and Western business areas, as well as The Lexicon – everything from office work and management to driving jobs, retail, packing and facilities.

Sean Griffin, Bracknell BID Manager, said: “The jobs fair is a chance for businesses to promote the fantastic employment opportunities in the area. The jobs will be aimed at everyone from school leavers through to experienced hires, so we know that there will be something for everyone.

“This is also a chance for the BID to support relationships between businesses which seek to improve training, develop skills and assist with staff recruitment.

“We’d like to say thanks to The Lexicon for being a partner on this event, and thanks to careers charity Adviza, Bracknell Forest Council and DWP who are supporting the event.”

Attendees will be able to receive career advice and support from National Careers Service and Adviza to help build their confidence, speak directly with local employers, brush up on interview skills, gain CV advice and lots more.

Rob Morris, General Manager at The Lexicon said: “Partnering with Bracknell BID for the Jobs Fair is a great way to help share fantastic opportunities that are available for individuals of all ages.

“We are expecting hundreds of jobs from retailers to be advertised at the event, and we are excited to be able to give lots of people the chance to find their new career.   We’re also excited to host a CV concierge, a bit like a delivery service, where people drop off their CVs for us to deliver confidentially to businesses who are hiring.

This is an excellent way to support retailers who are unable to attend, while also helping job seekers find employment.  The Lexicon is a great place to hold a jobs fair as we are based in the town centre and are easily accessible from the bus and rail stations. We anticipate lots of people attending.”

There will be 25 stands at the free event including BID member businesses as well as companies that are based at The Lexicon. The jobs fair is open to all skill levels and working age groups looking for job vacancies in Bracknell.

More participating businesses will be announced in due course and up-to-date job vacancies will be available. For more information visit www.bracknellbid.co.uk/projects/bracknell-jobs-fair/
