SEEDLING SPRITES RETURN TO THE LEXICON FOR HALF TERM

Following the popularity of the Seedling Sprite Trail in the summer, The Lexicon is bringing back the five fabulous sprites to Princess Square for October half term.

But this time, young visitors will be able to create their very own Seedling Sprite from pinecones, twigs and other natural materials with guidance from the sprite helpers, or they can create a colouring masterpiece, to take away.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says: “The five Seedling Sprites were such a hit in the summer, that we thought it would be great to invite them back to the town centre as inspiration for an autumnal arts and crafts workshop.”

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration said: “Another jam-packed October half term with free activities for families to do in the town centre. I can’t wait to see the Sprites again after their first visit this summer during the Bracknell Forest Festival event.”

The Seedling Sprite Craft event will be surrounded by the five popular Sprites - Little Thistle;  Poppy-Go-Lucky;  Pinecone Fairy;  Old Acorn and Bluebell and will take place within Princess Square (outside WhSmith) on Saturday 22 October, Sunday 23 October, Wednesday 26 October, Thursday 27 October, Saturday 29 October and Sunday 30 October with six 30-min sessions (including a lunch break) between 11am and 4pm. On Saturday 22, Wednesday 26, Thursday 28 and Saturday 29 October – there will be dedicated SEND sessions at 11am.

Little Muddy Boots, the local gardening and nature club for children, also forms part of the Seedling Sprite Craft event, and they will run four 30-min sessions on Friday 28 October at 11am; 11:40am; 14:10pm and 14:50pm. These sessions will include planting acorns to grow your own oak tree, forest school inspired autumn tree art craft and storytelling.

Hannah Brewer, group leader and founder of Little Muddy Boots says: “We are excited to be bringing a taste of our unique garden and nature club experience to the children of Bracknell. We hope through our Seedling Sprites activities, we will inspire lots of half term outdoor play, and time spent as a family making memories!”

Places at the Seedling Sprite Craft event must be booked in advance. Tickets cost £2.50 plus a booking fee of .50p in aid of The Lexicon Charity Fund.  Each child will take home a Seedling Sprite “treat” bag containing a pop-badge and bookmark as well as their own planting and art creations.
