The Lexicon is delighted to announce that it will be holding an evening of musical entertainment in Bracknell town centre on the evening of Saturday, July 14 2018.
From 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm visitors to town centre, will be able to sit on the giant steps in Bond Square, and enjoy The Lexicon Proms.
Featuring a trio of fabulous and diverse acts, there will be music and entertainment to get everyone’s toes tapping.
Headlining the event is the iconic Boogie Woogie Gals, with their distinctive vintage style and flair. With songs from the ‘40s and ‘50s including war time, swing and rock ‘n’ roll all time classics, the audience will be singing along in no time.
The Reading Community Gospel Choir with members ranging from 14 to 70 years old, will be performing a blend of classical gospel and contemporary songs to create a musical fusion of funky, soulful, groovy and up-lifting music to brighten the soul and make people smile.
Bracknell and Wokingham Community Band, complete the evening’s performers, with its big band sound, featuring a wide repertoire of favourite classical and popular tunes. The 50 piece wind band have already proved a popular act with visitors to the town centre.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says: “The Royal Wedding open-air viewing, created such a positive and vibrant atmosphere in the town centre, we thought that a summer Proms event would give people another opportunity to come together again.
“We are delighted to have secured three very different acts and are confident that everyone will find themselves humming along to a tune or two.”
A mobile bar will be situated in the square, selling a wide range of wines, beers and soft drinks and an ice cream van will also be on hand.
