Help Dorothy as she is swept into the Land of Oz, through the Wizard’s chamber at South Hill Park and onto the Emerald City, in The Lexicon to defeat the Wicked Witch.

Yellow Brick Road Trail

Running from Monday, July 24 until Saturday, September 2, 2023, visitors to The Lexicon can win some fabulous prizes by completing the Yellow Brick Road Trail.

Following the instructions on the trail leaflet, visitors need to locate the ten Wizard of Oz characters hidden around the town centre for the chance to win some fabulous prizes including a £100 Primark gift card.

Floral Rainbow "Snap, Tag & Share"

From July 24 until September 2, 2023, a picturesque floral rainbow will be created on The Avenue to provide the perfect summer selfie.

The Lexicon will also be running a ‘snap, tag and share’ competition throughout the summer.

Wizardly Wonder Colouring Competition

Sponsored by Gail’s Bakery, the Wizardly Wonder colouring competition gives visitors a little something extra to do at home. Simply download the wizard hat template from The Lexicon’s website and follow the instructions to enter. The Wizardly Wonder colouring competition ends on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Yellow Brick Road Make and Take Crafts

The Lexicon will also be running 12 days of fantastic Wizard of Oz craft activities from July 26 to August 12, 2023.

There will be four different workshops to choose from Recycled Wednesdays to transform tins into The Tin Man, Wicked Witch Thursdays, to create witches hats, Fridays Friends making character peg dolls and Castle Saturdays to make your own version of the Emerald City.

Everyone will also sign or colour in a brick, to create The Lexicon’s own Yellow Brick Road that will grow as the weeks roll by.

Tickets to The Yellow Brick Road Make and Take Home will cost from £2 per ticket (inclusive of the Eventbrite transaction fee), in aid of The Lexicon Charity Fund. Each session will last around 25 minutes.
